Aimie’s story

It was a leap of faith because we did not know what to expect

My testimony is of God’s goodness and faithfulness in my life. In 2021, my family and I moved to the United Kingdom from Nigeria after I received a job opportunity. It was a leap of faith because we did not know what to expect. Our children were still young, and one of our greatest desires was for them to grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus. We prayed for a church where they could learn about God in a fun, engaging, and structured way.

While searching online, we found Thornhill Baptist Church and decided to attend. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed, and over time we have truly come to love being part of the church family here.

Adjusting to life in a new country has not always been easy, but being part of TBC has made the journey much easier for us. We have been blessed to fellowship with God’s people, and whenever we face challenges, we know we have people who will stand with us in prayer and encouragement.

Last year, I went through a particularly difficult season at work. After a Sunday service, I shared my situation with a member of the prayer team, who prayed with me. God faithfully answered our prayers — I came through the situation victoriously, and God secured my job.

I have also greatly enjoyed volunteering in the children’s ministry at TBC. It brings me so much joy and fulfilment to help children learn about Jesus and grow in their faith.

God bless our church family!
