Pat’s Story

Pat’s story

Newly divorced and struggling with self-worth and felt uncertain of my future.

I came to faith at the mature age of 47. Newly divorced and struggling with self-worth and felt uncertain of my future. Christian friends introduced me to Jesus through their prayers, kindness and a small craft group.

I was baptised on the coldest day ever. Yes, it does get cold in South Africa. Since then, I have enjoyed a wonderfully varied journey with Christ. From floods of repentant tears, helpful courses, camps, with many encounters with the Lord through small group activities and ministries.

Sadly, when I left South Africa to be with my children, my church was in a sad state and the Holy Spirit in me felt crushed.

I came to live with my son in Southampton and was blessed to find a next-door neighbour who recommended TBC to me. She wasn’t a member but brought family to Moms & Tots. She also recommended I come to the Crafts and Chatter group. Welcome Cafe at the church has become my delight. I now participate in SPEAK (which is English conversation), pastoral care, intercessory prayer and making bits of scenery for the children’s Holiday Club.

I am so fortunate that God has sent so many lovely Christians to share my walk on the Path of Faith. Shalom all.
