Because nearly all wet wipes have plastic or polyester in them, even so called flushable ones, do not dispose of them down the toilet as they block sewers. When they eventually break down, they put plastic into the sea. Ideally use them as little as possible and put them in the waste bin even though they still end up in landfill. For disinfection purposes during the virus crisis, use very diluted bleach and kitchen paper.
