Dear TBC family,
We are looking forward to our Church Away Day and hope very much that you can join us to spend some time together!
Here are all the details you need to know:
Date: Saturday 25 April 2026
Venue: Testwood Baptist Church, 283A Salisbury Road, Totton, SO40 3LZ
Time: Arrive from 9.30am, programme starting at 10.15am. Finish at 4.15pm.
Speaker: Andy Hickford. Andy is the director of Jubilee Leadership.
Cost: £10 per adult; £5 per teenager (13-19 years); under 13s free. Maximum cost £20 per family.
Please don’t be put off by the cost! A subsidy or free place can be requested on the booking form and we would really like you to join in. Please don’t let the cost be a barrier!
Catering: Please bring your own lunch. Cold and hot drinks, biscuits, pastries and afternoon cake will be provided.
Provision for children: There will be a children’s group (age 12 and under) running alongside the speaker sessions. Everyone will be included in the time of worship. Teenagers are encouraged to participate in the main sessions; alternatively, they can join the children’s group as helpers.
Activities:
There will be some free/family time after lunch. Children will be the responsibility of their parents/carers. The following activities will be available:
- Walk around Testwood Lakes (please note this is not buggy accessible). This is a circular (flat) walk along a firm stony path and will take a minimum of 1 hour. There is parking available at the lakes, but not many benches for sitting. Liz Warn will be leading this walk.
- Walk to the local park and play area (parents to supervise). Rob and Sandy Ainslie will be at the local park with drinks and biscuits for the children.
- Kids craft (parents to supervise)
- Adult craft
- Bring your own craft
- Chill out in the café area
- Assorted (board) games
- Book table with Christian books to browse (for inspiration, please don’t take away!)
- Suggestions of Christian podcasts (access via QR codes) TBC
Transport
We will try to match those who need a lift with those who are willing to give lifts (as indicated on the booking form).
